Man Crush Monday: Vuyisani Hans- Author and Motivational Speaker

Few Minutes With A Young, Aspiring Author and Motiational Speaker.

We spoke to Vuyisani Hans, a motivational speaker and author. He is one of the most inspiring youmg, black individuals from the the ACTIVATE! Change Drivers network. Born and bread in Queenstown, Western Cape, he is the 5th of 6 children. Having written a book called "Why Wait: A Motivational Reader" he has found an ideal way to find a to mix his great writting skills with his motivational speaking skill. He holds a degree in Human Resource Maagement from Fort Hare University.

He is also founder of Reaching Out Society and MD of Isiqalo Enterprise Pty Ltd and a member of ANFAASA (Academic Non-Fictional Authors os SA). He aims to be published each year for the next 4 years.

After his business failed in Dec 2014, he had no income and had to sell his car.
"it was during that time that I started visiting schools and motivating learners not to give up. I then went to sing in PTA at the SATICA Eistedford and it was during this period that I started writting down articles and chapters on my options."
He then decided to compile those chapters and make a book.
"so you can say I accidentially came across writting."
His books are mostly on self-help.
"simply because I am a motivational speaker. My book inclination is to write books that people will be able to use and transform their lives."
We asked Vuyisani if he had a specific time to write or how his day is structured and he answered:
"When I'm writting, I stick to a time table. I normally write at night, so each day I'll take an hour or two to write. Similarly,ee when I when I don't have a manuscipt to work, I take an hour or two each day to read and jot down any ideas that creep into my mind and reflect on them later."
But being an author; a motivational speaker and... whatever is that Vuyisani is, requires a lot of attention and time. How does he do it?

"I don't even on a TV set. The reason I don't encourage watching TV is becase it reduces mind activity."
A preview from a chapter in his previous book...
you know we all want to achieve greatness? We all want to succeed. We all want to succeed. We all want to make our dreams come true but we suffer from the soft voices within that tell us we aren't good enough or that the timing is not perfect or we will fail. So in this chapter I speak of the importance of resolving the conflict within. Success comes when u are assured and confident of your ability. Our problem is that we are a generation that fails to see the greatness within, because we are busy focusing on the mediocrity around us"
As a young, black person, Vuyisani's biggest incentive has been the insistance that, because of his age and the fact that he did'nt grow up as poor as many of us had, people often assume that he could not relate to what many if us are going through.
"and the biggest incentive as a writter and speaker are the testimonies of how my book and speeches have changed people's lives. That's my best."
His book "Why Wait: A Motivational Reader" sold 100 copies in less than  4 weeks while having no marketing budget and a mere R1000 in his pocket when he printed the manuscript.
" My new book will also teach young professionals how to navigate the work place once they get a new job"
"My advice is: Young, black South Africans suffering not frim the inability to succeed but the misdirection of our energy. We spend a lot of time and energy on things that will not result in our growth or success. We tend to look at lige as being favourable to only a select few. So I'd urge to start focusing on succeeding and being the people we dream we could be. We need to start making for success instead for weekends and parties. Friends for wealth creation instead of loitering the streets and most importantly, we need to start being caregul what we say to others and to ourselves. There is power in words."
Vuyisani Hans, an inspiration to many of us an voice of change to South Africa #MotivateZA our #MCM
