As people, we react differently to that moment right after sex. Some of us feel so much attached to their partner, and just feel like cuddling and sharing all their thoughts and feeling, while others - me included, just feel... awkward.
I had recently fallen into a heated argument with my girlfriend about the fact that I used to always bail right after sex. I think there is science that relates to hormones and stuff to back that up so... you're not alone.
Do Not
- Leave immediately. that is just the number one rule. Women somehow feel worthless if, immediately after having sex, you have to rush somewhere or "it's getting late" every time. Just stick around for a while.
- Allow the awkward silence. Staying silent after sex is exactly what makes you feel awkward. The best way to avoid that is to actually talk during sex.
- Sleep facing the other direction (or just sleep) immediately. One of your new values should be intimacy. Be intimate as much as possible.
Do
- Stick around. Staying with your partner, and telling them how much you enjoyed the sex is a must do. Do not always rush off somewhere because you might make your partner feel, as my girlfriend said, "like a worthless hoe."
- Talk- during and after sex. Silence will make you feel awkward.
- Cuddle if your partner wants that. It helps with the intimacy and stuff.
- Take a selfie if you have to. Remember when #AfterSexSelfie was a thing? Some people still love doing that. If your partner just happens to do, take it with them, why not?
Remember that love comes in different flavours. And that love means sacrifice and compromise. Just push aside what you believe in if it doesn't benefit your relationship and try to adopt something new. I'd love to hear your thoughts, hala at me any way you can.
